Enjoy your balcony to the fullest. Even a miniature one.
Small balconies are often unused. Decorate your balcony in detail and according to your wishes. Don't worry, nothing is impossible and even a small balcony can fit a lot of stuff! Living in an apartment is more affordable (and often more comfortable) than in a large house these days, that's for sure. But even people from block of flats sometimes long for a bit of greenery, for pleasant sitting in the fresh air or for relaxing in the sun. All this is possible if your apartment has a balcony. Even the smallest balcony can be smartly equipped, so you will be able to enjoy many things on it. Especially vital and indispensable relax.

Don't underestimate your balcony

The balcony is a very underestimated part of the household. It's outside, there's always a mess there, there's not much you can do there and you just don't go there. All nonsense! You don't go there because it's not well furnished, there are lots of things you can do there - read, talk, sit, lie down. You can get rid of the mess with a broom in a flash and it’s outside – so what’s up with that? That's why you can relax there, disconnect from reality and really enjoy everything you decide to do there. And believe us, whatever you want, you can do on your tiny balcony.

Arrange your dream balcony

There's only one thing that matters. Be inventive. If you put at least a little thought into the arrangement, nothing will be out of your reach.

Start with seating, you have several options available and each has its advantages

  • balcony furniture – lots of versions, materials, sizes, tables, chairs, benches, deck chairs – you do assembly and sit
  • DIY pallet furniture – you can make it exactly to your liking and you will have pieces that no one else has
  • folding furniture – you can also get folding chairs, so if you have a balcony that you would not walk across because of the chairs, get ones that will lean against the wall and which you will only unfold when someone wants to lounge around on them
  • hammock – it is easily removable, so if it gets in the way, you can simply take it down
  • floor seating – in the summer, you can also sit comfortably on the flooring on pillows, blankets or woven rugs, Buddhist monks would not sit otherwise, so relaxation is guaranteed

It is definitely a good idea to have an area where you can lay aside small things - a small table, next to your seating. Again, you have many options. You can buy a balcony table, make a table out of pallets, buy a folding table that you can place on the windowsill or on the railing. You can also use wooden boxes that will also be storage space. It's up to you how much storage space you need. Whether it's just for some coffee and a book or if you're going to serve dinner on the balcony.

You can't conjure up a beautiful balcony with no greenery

A balcony is actually supposed to be a substitute for a terrace or garden, and (not only) for that reason, it needs to be properly greened. Sad prefabricated house balconies without a single flower won't dazzle anyone. If you're not exactly a gardener, at least get some herbs, because you'll appreciate them not only on the balcony, but also in the kitchen.

Flower pots take up space, but you can also play smart with them. Hanging flower pots that can be attached to the ceiling or railing are a great option. Flower pots look nice even on windowsills that might otherwise remain unused. A vertical garden is absolute perfection. Even the most critical designer of all will appreciate this on your balcony.

Create a pleasant evening balcony ambience

During the day, your oasis of peace is of course perfect. But what about your balcony when it gets dark? Light it up! With anything. Flashlights, candles, light chains, small lanterns. Small lights simply belong to a pleasant atmosphere, and doubly so on a balcony. Believe us, the lights will brighten your soul, and when you sit down on a softly lit balcony after a long day, you won't even think about regretting not having a garden.

Less stuff, more space: Japanese inspiration for minimalism
Minimalist interior is not just about "having few things at home". It is mainly about the feeling of lightness, clarity and peace that your home gives you every day. When you don't have chaos around you, you breathe better, think better, rest better and work better. Japanese minimalism can be a great inspiration in this because it combines respect for space, light and natural materials with functional elements such as sliding panels, Japanese blinds and Japanese walls. In this article, we will therefore look at how Japanese-style minimalism can be transferred to a typical Czech apartment or house and how Japanese walls and other shading techniques can help you with this.
