Prevent heat leakage
Saving energy needed for heating is the basis of ecological living. Heat leakage through uninsulated walls unnecessarily wastes both money and natural resources. Find out where your heat escapes - in addition to the external walls or the roof, it can also be the large glazed areas of windows and balcony doors. You can also combat heat loss with suitable shading, ideally with exterior blinds.

Energy saving within lighting
LED technology and energy-saving lighting have become the standard in modern living. Intelligent lighting with the ability to regulate light intensity and automatic switch-off contributes not only to saving energy, but also to creating a pleasant atmosphere in the house. If you have space, for example on the roof of the house or in the garden, you can improve your energy balance by installing solar panels or air source heat pump.
Our parents always told us: Turn it off! Lights on, where no one is present, is a waste of money.
The choice of appliances and the way they are used also make a significant contribution to saving electricity. Choose the most economical options and disconnect them from the network when not in use. You can read more tips about energy saving in our article.
Literally a green dwelling
Green living is not complete without green indoor plants. They help maintain a pleasant climate in the apartment and improve air quality. Peace lily, snake plant or potted palms and dragon trees belong to the most efficient air cleaners in rooms, and when it comes to presence of harmful substances, they can even replace an air purifier. But also use other natural or easily recyclable materials: wood, metal, natural textiles or glass.

Talking about recycling, waste management is also a key element of an ecological household. Ecological approach is based on the principle of "reduce - reuse - recycle", sometimes "rethink" is added as the fourth R. First, rethink if you really need something. Then think about how you can cut down (reduce) on things you use (take a look at our article on minimalism). If possible, reuse things you already have, for example carry your own bags for shopping. And when things reach the end of their useful life, sort them into the appropriate container to allow them to be recycled. In addition to paper, plastic and glass, today it is also possible to recycle beverage cartons and metal or textile waste.
