Roof systems for perfect shading not only of attic spaces

Roof systems for perfect shading not only of attic spaces
The most common area for shading attic spaces is undoubtedly a roof window. With advanced architecture and the possibilities of today's modern times, however, there may be more opportunities for how and what to shade. In contrast, the most typical element of shading technology for roof shading is certainly an interior roof roller blind. However, it can also be an interior horizontal blind or a pleated fabric blind. Of the exterior products, it is certainly a roof screen roller blind.

Interior roof shading systems

The most popular interior roof roller blind

The high-quality design of the R-LITE roller blind with aluminum guide rails, combined with a suitably selected fabric, ensures smooth regulation of light and heat. The choice includes patterned or plain fabrics, with a fully blackout effect or fabrics that partially transmit light, as well as fabrics with colorful motifs for roof windows in children's rooms that will delight our little ones. Some types of fabrics have a special non-flammable treatment, which is ensured by one of the German, French or British standards.

The control is manual by pulling out and pulling down the roller blind by grasping the lower profile. To control the roller blind on higher windows, a telescopic control rod with a hook or with a joint and hook of size 50-200 cm is used. The roller blind can only be placed in the window sash of the roof window from the interior. The angle of inclination of the roof must not be less than 30° and greater than 90°.

Horizontal roof blinds are not for everyone

The V-LITE roof interior horizontal blind is designed for all types of roof windows. The upper and lower profiles, including guide rails, are made of anodized aluminum or in white. You can choose a slat with a thickness of 0.21 mm and a width of 25 mm. There is a wide range of colors for the slats, including wood imitation, metallic, smoky, glittering, matte shades, the slats can also be perforated, striped or have a different color on each side. The ladder, cord and strap are then matched to the selected color of the slat.

Depending on the position of the window in which the blind is placed, you can choose between two control methods. The blind is raised and lowered manually by gripping the lower profile and tilted with a wheel located on the upper profile or a slider located lower on the guide rail. A fixed or telescopic telescopic rod is used to control the blind on higher windows.

Pleated fabric roof blinds

An elegant solution for shading roof windows is an interior pleated fabric blind, which is available with side guide rails for classic roof windows, but there is also a ceiling pleated blind for rectangular windows and for windows of atypical shapes with different angles of inclination. These ceiling pleated blinds are intended primarily for shading larger windows of winter gardens from the inside, when each window sash is shaded separately.

There is a wide portfolio of fabrics to choose from, including completely blackout fabrics or the "curtain" type, but also HoneyComb fabrics, which are double fabrics resembling a honeycomb in shape. Depending on the type of pleat, you can choose up to two fabrics for one blind, which can be pulled and pulled in different ways, thus alternating between two designs. Installation in glazing bars is possible. Control is manual using a handle that pulls and pulls the pleat. A control rod is also commonly offered for this product. Dimensions vary depending on the specific type of pleat and are always specified by the manufacturer in the technical documentation.

Exterior roof shading systems

SKY roof screen roller blind

A modern variant of exterior shading for roof windows. In summer, it protects the attic from overheating, in winter it prevents heat loss. In addition, it protects the window from weather damage, dampens outside noise from rain and ensures sufficient privacy in the attic.

Thanks to its unmistakable appearance, it becomes an integral part of modern architecture and an important design element. The screen fabric is composed of glass fibers coated with a PVC layer, which ensures its high resistance to external influences such as wind, temperature changes or humidity. By choosing the right fabric, you will gain excellent control over light and at the same time remain in visual contact with the outside environment. The functions of the window are not limited by pulling the roller blind down.

The ISOTRA SCREEN SKY screen roof roller blind is fastened by screwing the roller blind box into the sheet metal of the upper frame of the roof window. The control is manual and serves to pull the roller blind up and down. The cover profile can be painted in various RAL shades to match the roller blind with the roof.
