How to choose interior blinds
Unified rolls of fabric with a cord, as we remember from school windows or the movie The Love of a Blonde? Long gone. Interior blinds can become an aesthetic addition to the home and at the same time flawlessly fulfill the function we want them to, namely to prevent unwelcome light. But what types of blinds are there, how to find out about them and what to choose based on?

Classic fabric interior roller blinds have great variability

The monotonous fabric wound on a round profile has long since passed. With fabric roller blinds, you can choose not only the fabric, but also the design. Choose a cover box that suits your interior, as well as the shape of the bottom rail. There are variants for both minimalist homes and modern interiors, as well as for rustic, cozy apartments and cottages.

You don't have to be afraid of interior roller blinds even when you need thorough shading. A fabric roller blind with side guide rails will ensure that light does not penetrate from the sides.

But what if you want to enjoy pleasantly diffused sunlight during the day, but still be able to fall asleep peacefully in the evening? There is no need to add another type of shading: day and night roller blinds effectively solve this problem. This type of roller blind combines translucent and opaque strips of fabric that can be smoothly adjusted to let in either most of the light or almost none. You can smoothly regulate the light intensity in the interior without having to pull the blinds and expose yourself to views from outside.

Blinds that don't roll up

If you're thinking about blinds, it would be a mistake to overlook the alternative of pleated blinds. They're actually something between internal blinds and roller blinds: the shading fabric is folded into the shape of blinds, but their functionality is closer to roller blinds. But with one big advantage: you can move both the lower and upper profiles. This allows you to let light into the interior from the upper part of the room without worrying about someone looking under your arms and into your plate.

Plisse blinds can also be adapted to almost any window shape. Their folded structure looks airy and elegant. And to make the list of roller blinds and non-rollers complete, let's also mention Japanese walls. These are also often called Japanese blinds or Japanese shutters, although they only have a shading function in common. These are vertical panels suitable for shading large areas, but they can also be used to visually divide larger rooms.

Office inspiration: screen blinds

For both interior and exterior, for the office and home. Screen blinds will stop at nothing. In modern homes, you don't have to be afraid to use them: they will reward you with their shading functionality and also help with thermal regulation in the room. In summer, they will keep the interior from getting too hot, and in winter, they will help keep the heat inside.

What to look for when choosing roller blinds?

  • Degree of shading - Do you need complete darkness, or just the diffusion of direct light? Blackout blinds are suitable for bedrooms, while lighter fabrics are suitable for the living room.
  • Aesthetics - Choose according to the style of the interior. Minimalist spaces call for neutral shades, while warmer colors and patterns can dominate in cozy homes.
  • Control method - Blinds are usually controlled manually using a chain, but there are also electric versions that you can include in your smart home.
  • Window type - Pleated blinds are suitable for atypical windows, classic fabric blinds for common types.
  • Location in the house - You will appreciate easy-to-maintain materials in the kitchen, and fabrics with a higher degree of blackout in the bedroom.
